So, he offered it up, and I took it. He is waiting on the title, so that it can be signed over, but as of now, there is a 6.9 here.

If this becomes too much for me to work with, I may end up giving it away...

Anyone want it?

^^^^^^ mua hahahaha. Justin, you have just found the "door prize" to be donated for the Spring 2008 2nd annual Mercedesshop Nor Cal Diesel drive, 03/29/2008!!!

I used to have the 1979 Mercedes Benz factory sales brochure and the '79 6.9 was the flagship Mercedes Benz for that year, it cost $55,000 brand new back then.

That was more than houses in many places at the time.

Curtis, ("Diametrical Benz") has one of them, also, I believe a 1979 6.9, in great shape but in need of a repaint. He may or may not show up at the Diesel drive in this car, the 6.9.

You too, might be a "Diametrical Benz" guy if you own one of these AND an old Mercedes Benz diesel - like Curtis does, 'cause the two cars are "Diametrically" opposite in power and speed, comparing one to the other ...

Curtis' 6.9 is the silver one, that you can in these pictures, taken in November at MR. MB Mercedes in Tarzana, Southern California

it's the middle car in the next "trunk tirangle" shot:

If you own one of these AND an old NA Mercedes Diesel, you get to call yourself "Diametrical" because in terms of power and speed, the two are "Diametrically" opposed to one another.

When I was down there in Los Angeles last November, one night in Glendale we took that car out.

I don't know exactly the route, but I think it was Highway 2 up to the Los Angeles Crest from Glendale. It is a gently sweeping uphill run, and it's pretty steep.

Curtis let me drive the car, and even up hill, it was hella fast. (And you KNOW I like to drive fast!!)

Going up the hill, it pulled very hard past 100 mph with no effort whatsoever.

It is a big, no nonsense, VERY fast (and I KNOW you like to drive fast, too Justin, I know you do!!!) car with a very big steering wheel, supremely comfortable, and an absolute blast to drive really, really, fast.

Clean it up, and you will love owning it and tearing up the "Schnellstrasse" with it.

The air suspension can be expensive to fix, but they are really great cars!!
