I have saved all kinds of crap over the years, including all of my monthly statements. Last year I got a heavy duty paper shredder and shreded all but the December statements of each year. Unfortunately, I later realized that I didn't have the December statements of a couple of years in my files. Guess which years? Yeah, one of them was the year I bought this REIT. 
I'm working on my filing system. I will NOT let this happen again!
