The trick is the connector.. to remove it , you have to turn the outside ring/lock on the connector to get it to release.

The cable to ign sw is the release for P , so , seeing that you just changed the Ign Sw, you may not have that back correctly, but don't forget, you also have to both press the brake pedal and have the key on to shift out of P
I would check that first b/c maybe you forgot that ???

I got an 96 E320, Hi I was looking through the forum for the issue I'm having, the sticking ignition, key goes in and out but I got to wiggle, twist the steering and key and force it for about a minute or two to get the ignition to turn everytime I get in to start the engine. I saw your post on the ignition shift interlock and at this point I think thats what I need to try now. Is that adjustment from inside the car, if so how do I get to it, or from underneath the car. And could u e mail the adjustment procedure to me if its not too much trouble. Thanks Dee.
