I'm interested in the agricultural diesel engines for generators too.
I have a 9600w electric kiln that I want to find a cheaper way to power, so I'm always searching.

The idea of being able to switch the heat source as desired/needed makes the Stirling generator worth looking into.
I'd love the ability to play and experiment with glass techniques in the kiln without a "Chuck Norris roundhouse kick" delivered from PECO.
I wonder ... if I exhaust my kiln to the stirling generator, would it be self-sustaining.
