DAS2x starts in 1997 for 129 cars according to my wiring diagram. If you go to the EPC in group 46 steering wheel and steering lock you will see item 39 part# 168 462 02 53. This is the transponder coil used in DAS validation. If you have that coil it will stick out beyond the point where the key enters. If you have that then you have a system hard to avoid.

If you don't have it then you have the system called RCL and the starter is disengaged by the easily bypassed K38 relay. I didn't see anything on your data card to indicate which you have, but it might not say as it really wasn't an option.
