Just FYI - MB accelerators are designed this way... lubricating the throttle linkage will take away some of the resistance and make the action smoother, but I'm not sure there's much else that can be done. After awhile, you get used to it... I find the feather-light accelerators in other cars about as annoying as you probably find the stiff pedal in your mercedes...!
