I belive there was another military power some 70 years ago that thought no one could touch them. They even mocked the words of leaders of other nations who tried to spell out to them what their limits were.....

Yeah, that's true that many people saw him coming from a long way off. And how did those same powers do in that particular engagement before say, Dec 7, 1941?
Would you not agree with me that the world would be a far better place if "somebody' had shot the little corporal in 1937 rather than sitting around complaining that somebody should do something?
