using a box-mounted amplifier?
A couple of months ago I was re-installing my subwoofer in my new car (88 300E) and decided while I was at it I would mount my amplifier on to the back of the box to make things more convenient when removing or re-situating the subwoofer. a couple of weeks later the amp failed due to a loose internal connection (I don't know anything about amps but I know enough to look at a circuit board and say "that's not right) and after repairing it the amp worked for another week and quit again... Originally I figured it had just failed due to age and replaced it with a brand new Sony which I have also since mounted to the same box. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it failed because of being mounted. My question is as follows, is there any real negative affects on the amp to have it mounted vertically to the box?
