I am thinking the same thing. I would like to know what voltage the sender is supposed to be putting out so I can test it. I guess the best thing to do is to get a mechanical gauge and connect it to the port the sender goes into. If it reads OK, then I know it is not the engine.

BTW, would the oil pressure, gas, and temp gauges from a 300SD work in a SDL?
I am thinking they should be the same gauges, but you never know...
