Actually the current recommendation on that transmission IS DexronIII/Mercon.
On brand names, I can attest that Penzoil ATF (DexronIII/Mercon) works just swell and gives good service, plus meets all the criteria that MB requires, if you read the fine-print on the recommendation sheet.
