I have been a Yankees fan for more than 40 years, but I have to hand it to the Sox and the crowd at Fenway for the way they handled Bill Buckner's first pitch yesterday.

Buckner was a great player. He did not deserve all the grief he got after the Mookie Wilson incident. The main thing I remember about that series was the way Buckner played his butt off, despite being injured. I don't remember what his injury was, but he was definitely gimpy.
