He's being smart...if there's no shelves, nothing can be put on them...if there's nothing on non-shelves...the "nothing" can't fall from the higher height, to the lower height, and hit the car(s) that are parked in close proximity.
He's got it down alright...even the boxes...the worst they can do is, maybe, just lean over onto what's parked next to 'em...but they can't "fall."
And besides...what's to say that all that taping and mudding is from a recent repair following a series of minor trembles in his neighborhood?
Give the guy a break!
He's from California!
BTW: The one thing missing? (One for each vehicle) The tennis-ball-on-string-bumping-the-windshield-stopper thingie!

Now that makes sense - thanks for the explanation.
I think the reason I focused on the "garage" aspects of his picture was because of the title he assigned to the picture "My Garage never looked so good" - If he had said "My car never looked so good" maybe my beauty challenged eyes would have been drawn to the car as opposed to the garage.
But I'll happily cut him some slack - and I'm sure glad I can use shelves without the fear of damage here on the east coast.
