If your shifter is that sloppy I'd be worried if it would stay in park when I left the car. Make sure to use your parking brake.
Its probably not good to keep driving it like that. The neutral safety switch is not all that expensive. (can get it online for as little as $14), I'd have a dealer inspect your shifter mechanism under the car. Not sure what it would cost to have them replace/repair that.
