The other part of the equation is training you, I know that to be military dog handler the school is extensive and the training afterwards is non-stop with constant testing and trials. Mastering a working dog is no different than handling any other type of weapon, never forget that trained dogs like these are weapons. Personally I think a loyal Labrador will get the job done for you with minimal risk....that's my .02....IMO.
