Check for the wires haning somewhere -- there is a level sensor and two pumps in the tank -- they all seal on rubber grommets. When the rubber gets tired, they leak.

You may want to buy all new grommets, then replace them next time the tank is empty.

You can just plug the hole if you want.

The pumps plug into holes in a ledge near the bottom of the tank.
