Depends who is driving the car. A lot of the new cars have auto's or fake auto's so skill is less important. But with a stick you have to know how to shift. I have seen cars that should have won a drag race lose because of the driver. My friend crushed a late model M3 with his warmed up Chevy truck. Idiot didn't know how to shift. My cousin did the same in his 330CI with a Subaru STI that had a few mods in it, kid missed a shift.

I would imagin the best way to race an AMG would be to either do a rolling start at say 50, and pull to 100-120. They have a ton of torque and really high gearing so thats where they would shine. Also that why their is zero skill involved just floor it and go, thats all car.

If you want to do a race that requires some driver skill I would put the car into dyno mode, and throw some real tires on the rear, IE slicks. Than heat them up and figure out the best way to launch the damn thing. That takes some practice.

You also can't forget weather, that can play a huge part.
