Last night there was a special on the Science chanel about an apiarist(sp) who has done a study on bees and found a cause for them leaving and flying off in the wrong direction, it's called the "Isreali paralytic virus." Apparently if bees are sick and know it they will leave the hive so they don't infect other members. The study was done by freezing the bee corpses, disecting them and when viewed under a microscope found damage to the liver and kidneys. Both are filters in the body.
