I agree. Start it RIGHT after changing the oil.

1. You need to fill the filter and recheck the oil. You're probably down a half litre or so.

2. Pumping fresh warm oil to the top end is always a good idea.

After servicing my car, I also take it for a "road-test" drive, and then re-check the oil once more.
