I run a 1990 500SL R129 Euro-spec with factory original ADS (adjustable ride height and damper firmness) and ASR (traction control). Recently the rear right side is making a loud creaking noise at low speed. The right rear tire has also worn excessively (but evenly) compared to the left rear. I guess I've burst a damper, although there is nothing unusual in the handling. If this is a correct diagnosis, should I go to a main dealer for repairs given the complexity of the system?? Any advice appreciated.
