A great friend of mine just got the car- loves it!

Specifically, the cigarette lighter doesn't work (can't charge the cell phone...).

What to do/ where to look for a fix.

I have the same problem on my 77 450sl. I took the ash tray out and found the inner wires insulation falling apart. Instead of the pain of trying to take this apart, which I'm not sure you can, I loked on ebay and foud one at a reasonable price($25). Try searching under mercedes+107 and 450SL. Theres all kinds of interesting parts for sale.
