The same equation comes into play if your in the market for a larger used SUV. I've been semi-looking for a diesel Suburban (late 90's 6.5L unless I found a mint, lower mileage 3rd generation 6.2L one) for awhile now because I want a diesel Suburban for hauling the family around, towing my boat and future camping trailer. With the price dropping on the gassers I can find a signifantly newer gas one for less than the price of the more rare diesel. For occasional towing well under the truck's limits it's getting hard to justify the extra expense of the diesel even though I'd prefer it.
