I posted a photos just like that one maybe two years ago. Got no joy.

I finally figured out that it is the alarm sensor that triggers when the hood is raised and alarm is active.

Look beneath the hood latch using a flashlight and mirror on that side and you'll see where it broke off.

I suspect it gets broken when the PO changes the headlamp on that side with out removing the WS washer bottle first.
