A nice bit of wisdom for M112 owners:

Have changed the oil last week, the previous owner had poured in some skunk-piss from Yacco, only God knows what kind of grade it was - and while under throttle the engine made a strange, sewing-machine-like sound. The parts shop found in the database the recommended grade was MB 229.1, 10W40 viscosity semi-synthetic (not 229.3 as FSS system is not useful in third world countries like Romania, should stick to fixed changes and major brand oils). Used 7.5 litres of Mobil Super S 10W40, API SL/CF - and immediately after filling up and cranking the engine, the ticking noise was gone for good! Hope the previous muck-claiming-to-be-oil in the engine has not damaged the valve timing system yet....

Regards,
