I'm one of the fanatics who change their oil every 2,500 miles.

That allows me to rotate my tires every other oil change, which keeps me in sync with the 15,000 / 30,000 mile service.

If you stick with 3,000 mile oil changes and rotate your tires every other oil change, you get out of sync with the major services where you wouldn't rotate tires.

I also love changing my oil, inspect the car, pride of ownership, blah blah blah.

I'm also a convert of Larry Bible's "change it hot, change it often"!
