One thing you don't want to do when stopped for speeding is volunteer that your speedometer doesn't work right. Then you've got two tax/tickets to pay.

Although around here getting your speedometer calibrated (or just having the mechanic SIGN that he calibrated it) is one way to have a ticket thrown out in court, on the grounds that you really didn't know your speed.
