Guess I got my learnin' in for the day.
I always wonder if our world is really getting more cruel and callous or is the media just able to report more of the cr@p that's been happening all along.
I think every generation fears the same thing and worries about the decline of our morals and the safety of the world our children will be living in.
I believe technology HAS made it easier to commit crimes due to the ease of finding info and supplies, plus the media ends up spreading ideas that others most likely wouldn't have even considered. But still ... I don't think people are any more evil than they were 50 years ago, maybe just better informed.
Maybe there is a bit of "crowded rat syndrome" as well. Just my 2¢
