Later this summer, my 1980 450SL, my fiance, and I are moving from Texas to Illinois. The tires on my car are bad right now, so I need to replace them, but since I am going to be moving to a new climate that I know nothing about (born and raised in Texas), I'm not sure what I should do about tires.

What brands/types/sizes tires do you all recommend for the type of climate up there - particularly the winter? I just want to make sure I get the right ones on there.
