The 80 must be different. on my 85 the down pipe/header pipe has 2 bolts and a flange that bolts the 2 pieces of pipe together. It also hangs on a bracket off the transmission.

your picture looks rusty, those slip joints can be a PITA. heat, hammer chissel. and elbo grease.
