While doing a search on Wikiepedia for the M104 engine, I came across this...

The Sombrero Galaxy (also known as M104 or NGC 4594) is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo. It has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its inclined disk. The dark dust lane and the bulge give this galaxy the appearance of a sombrero. The galaxy has an apparent magnitude of 9.0, making it a galaxy that can easily be seen with amateur telescopes. The large bulge, the central supermassive black hole, and the dust lane all attract the attention of professional astronomers.

The 3.0 L 6 Cylinder in-line Mercedes Engine (also known as M104) is typically found in my driveway on dark or brightly lit nights, features KE-Jetronic fuel injection, has cylinder specific ignition-timing, variable valve timing and under-piston cooling jets giving the appearance of a powerhouse. This engine has an apparent horsepower of 215 (162 kW), making it's acceleration delighful to experience. Unlike the other distant M104, there is no black hole, which is an attractive feature for professional technicians and enthusiasts alike.

And thus ends the correlation to the constellation...
