I for one would be very interested in what you found out by testing your gasoline. I too have suspisions that the gas retailers are not always honest and that they blend their shipments and mix lower octane fuel with premium. This would raise their profits and serve as a motive in an unregulated area of business. Or am I wrong, does the oil company who franchises the brand police this, they certainly would have an incentive to do so and protect the brand name.
Anyway , like you I only have my empirical notions that the fuel changes octane from time to time. Let us know what you find out!
