My '69 Chevy Caprice.

Paid $400.00.

It was Khaki-green with a dark green cloth interior...

2dr., the curved rear window, a perfect black vinyl top, 350ci, 4-barrel, auto, PS, PB, 12" black-padded steering wheel, stone-deflector on the front of the hood, and a pair of yellow hallogen fog-lamps (PROPERLY AIMED!) that I cut and trimmed into the grill so it almost looked like factory...and that was it...no factory-AC, only the kick-panel vents and the 2.5.5-55 AC system (2 full windows down, then the 2 rear "1/2" windows down and ONLY 55 MPH!) It only came with an AM radio in it, so I added an FM radio w/a signal booster/psycho-accoustic "stereo-synthesizer" (ask me about that later) and a METAL-FACED RCA-brand 8-track tape player (It definately proved to be theft-proof!) all wired to a pair of JENSEN 6x9 Tri-axials mounted under the rear-window deck (I needed the assistance of a pry-bar to get both of the speakers past the rear-deck hood torsion-bars to mount them. I also added air-shocks to the ride cause of the issue of a sagging back end (weak, but not trashed, rear springs)...leveled her out and she looked like a "low-rider" that was just in a "cruising" mode...not slammed, just crusing...

That SOB had a trunk you could stuff 18 cases of COORS/Olympia in it along with a gross of M-80s (BTDT!)(The air-shocks came in REAL HANDY for that trip!!! ) and it had such a S-M-O-O-O-O-O-T-H ride (P205/70R14s on chrome-reverse rims and capped off with the real, authentic Moon-caps (No scraping of the sidewalls on any parts undercarriage!)) and an average MPG of around 18-19...

Couldn't afford the gas (Radio DJ-pay) to keep her on the road during the "gas-crisis" (My ASS!) during the early '80s...sold her for $800.00 to my brother's friend...he still had it on the road about 3 years later...that kid liked my car so much when he bought it that he was probably as anal, or more so than me, about keeping it nice and on the road...

BTW...she only had two spots of rust...both were located on each front-fender panel, just in front of the door. I was able to retard the rust simply by spraying Rustoleum "Cold-Galv" Zinc on each area and that pretty much stopped any further damage.

I want my car back!!
