Disagree on the revolution, since the British Empire put that government in place and ran it.
One of the main points of the revolution was that it wasn't their own government, remember taxation without representation. If the British let the colonists participate more in running the colonies we probably would have went the way of Canada.
You must be from the very deep old south if you refer to the civil war like that.
Edit: I'm very proud of the fact that two of my ancestors signed the Declaration of Independence, and gave the Brits the middle finger.
