I picked up a 1980 300GD Cabriolet from one of those guys. The truck looks good and only needs some minor things to be sorted out as expected with a 22 year old vehicle. Beware of trucks that have Benz car engines. I have not seen any of these in person, but I saw pics of a one truck that clearly had a Benz car air filter rather than the G Wagen's large can and long intake tube. Nothing against the equivalent car engines, but I want the motor that came with the truck. Plus I have learned that the G engines have different torque curves, different oil pans (with baffles), and different injectors. I'd be happy to show you my truck when I sort her out if you show me your mighty Unimog. I don't live too far from you.
