Hey maaaaaannnnn....enough of that chit and you don't care how anything runs....unless they're on a munchy-run......then they better hurry.....
Seriously though...I had a problem on my S-10 (I know, it's not an MB) that sounded similiar, they went through wires, caps, rotors, more wires (they were getting "spark-over" from the wires to the engine)...
Turned out it was the distributor's rotor shaft...apparently it was loose enough and worn out on the driven end that it was causing the mis-fire at idle and at certain spots in the excelleration curve...it was bad enough that I would end up with mis-fire and related codes...
What ever that determines the "firing" of the glow plugs or whatever (if it's something that's "driven" by an item on the engine itself) that might be part of the "timing" of the combustion cycle, have the technician see if that item might be loose or dragging...
Just an idea I'm throwing out there...
