If your car has the small metal oil pan like the 617s do the Indy can drain the oil and pull the pan and look for metal prticles.

Sadly I cannot get my Wife to assume more responsibilty for a car than starting it, using the brakes, keeping fuel in it and hosing the care down ounce in awhile. After that She has little interest in the car.
I put my homemade version of an oil pressure alarm on the car (as several other members have). I can only hope she will respond to the alarm if the oil pressure drops.
