Which red light? The one on the key fob or the one on the car? If it's the key fob, it's just the battery check indicator.
Did you do the digital camera test I mentioned a couple of posts ago?
Did you try and aim the key fob at a different receiver (like the trunk) and follow the instructions that stevebfl posted?
