Jathropa is quite big in India, its also actively being subsidised by local state governments and in some states you can find it being sold for 50 cents a gallon although in limited number of pumps. Recently MB India invested heavily into Jathropa plantations and even did a highly successful test run with a C220 that was driven all the way down from south of India to the Himalayas. The C220 was unmodified and ran on jathropa fuel alone.
