The solar panels are actually there to power the digital engine noise generator. If you don't want to spend the money for that option, you can just go with the standard deck of playing cards and clothes pins. The Prius owner clips the cards to the fender so that the wheel spokes hit them, thus producing a makeshift engine sound . . . .
