What happened that resulted in the battery being replaced?

Your key is the electroc key, correct; no metal blade?

Does the steering wheel lock retract immediately when the key is inserted?

If the answer to 2 is yes and 3 is no, you may have a bad key transducer; or it could be the K40 relay is failing to provide power to DAS.
