107--New tires--what a difference!

Had the 560SL for five years and never did anything about the Michelin Symmetry tires the PO had misguidedly just put on before selling, but I always thought the suspension needed rebuilding--very harsh, hard ride. Went for new Michelins; the Primacy MXV4 in H rating was the target, but due to availablilty consented to try the Harmony instead. The Harmony was much better on ride but squishy in handling; finally got the Primacy rubber put on and can't recommend it highly enough!

The car rides as it ought and the handling response I consider excellent; all of a sudden it feels like a Mercedes at 170K miles! Harshness gone, sense of carved-out-of-one-ingot solidity back, drives as it ought. Thanks to Luke for the recommendation! Unless you need ultimately crisp steering and will settle for a harsher ride, it seems to be the way to go.

SL--Anything else is just a Mercedes.
(Kudos to whoever said it first)
