Phil Here, I also went for new tires on my SL, I took off BridgeStone directional Potanz's 245/45-17's. I replaced them with Falkens 235/50-17.
The new rubber is 1/2" taller and 1/2" slimmer. What a difference!
My SL. rides like a Million Bucks. Those directional tires were a little "Freaky" in the handling department. My new rubber can be rotated for ware and my ride is a slight bit softer. I'm Happy.
