NO NO NO NO unless you want to buy another tank...

Your remove the tank or you buy the 46mm SOCKET to remove the screen inside the tank. In absence of the sockert you can use a large pipe wrench to remove the filter. the screen is threaded into the tank.

tank is removed through the trunk by removing some bolts and disconnectiing the fuel lines and electrical connections. It is held in by some adhesive so you will have to pull on it to get it loose.
