1. sheesh it's not like she has three heads. She's a relatively young woman, not on her deathbed. As long as he isn't using her to feel mature or to get the Mrs. Robinson experience, then she probably wouldn't be against it outright. If they have a connection, she likely feels it to. The only catch may be the difference in life experience. She may feel they are at drastically different places and are looking for different things. He should make an effort to show her he cares about her, values her experience/opinions, and shares her perspective. My only concern with a significant age difference is not having anything in common. Tell him to show her he valuues her and can relate to her. How? dunno. I have no game. one of the boys can help with that

2. (A guy said this

I've been in a long term relationship myself (lasted 5 years) with a woman 15 year older than myself. My view is this: you could date, have a great time, even fall in love....but it won't last over the long term. There are too many differences, not the last of which is the issue of wanting/not wanting children. What I would see as the potentially most unfair thing is for them to get together as a couple for another 10 or 15 years....and then he decides he wants children or someone more his own age etc.....and then leaves her alone in her older years. I see that as the potential long term problem with such a couple.

3. A 44 y o female friend of mine who is a University professor said this:
tend to agree with JayJay here. Even if they decide to have children, there will be an uneven burden that I don't think couples like this consider strongly. I know a woman who married a guy who is her parent's age. They had two boys. One has mental health issues (runs in the family actually) and the younger one is sweet but traumatized by the older one's mental health issues. This would be difficult enough for a couple in their 40's to handle but the dad is in his 70's. So the woman has her husband's health issues on top of her kids to worry about. Even with the guy being younger (assuming kids were OK), he'd likely be doing the lion's share of raising them at the time when they are most difficult to deal with (teenage years). Something to think about...
