I don't know if it is engine oil. It may be that when I changed the differential oil last year that I overfilled slightly. My concern is that the front differential seal is leaking and I was wondering if the differential and engine sump could be connected if an internal seal or part has failed? The MB procedure for the seal replacement seems somewhat complicated in order to set the back lash correctly. I would like to know if there is a simple procedure that would give a satisfactory result.
