Yes, but AFAIK this will not give the govt more power. It will in fact lead to more competition. Now the health insurance companies will be competing with the govt's own health plan. How's that bad? If you don't like the govt's health plan, don't use it. Actually if you already have employer-based insurance you might not even qualify. The details haven't been set yet, obviously.
