A burned out GP causes an open in the system and no current will flow. When U jump a good GP in an open GP circuit, nothing will happen. But when U jump a bad GP, U will notice sparks at the jumper connections because the jumper now is conducting the current that should be going thru the open GP.
Also, the jumper clips will probably start to get hot because the GP draw ~50amps.
Note, U connect the jumper clips on the resistance wires as close to the GP U are testing as possible. THat way U keep the most of the resistance wire's resistance in the circuit.
Even worse is when a GP short circuits. Been there, done that.
