The part number turns out to be 000 830 21 33 and is available from Germany according to my dealer. Amazing that they can look up the part from a number, but not from their system. I've decided to go with the fabrication method using the zip ties and some epoxy as insurance because I need to get the car back on the road.
M.B. Doc - did you use any of the old parts with the zip ties? I'm assuming that I'll need to keep the sleeve that screws into the shaft. Mine broke at the end of the sleeve. I figured that I could drill a small hole in the end of the sleeve and also one in the other piece and tie the 2 together with a zip tie. Or is it better to remove the bulk of the existing flex joint and just tie the sleeve to the piece that slides into the flap?
