Update:

Sunroof is fixed (albeit not perfect, but it works again!). I ended up just pulling the headliner down from the front and disconnecting the metal part of the roof by sliding the headliner back. Followed installation in reverse of what I took apart in the junkyard.

As I said, it works, not perfectly, but it does work. Could use some lubrication I think...
