Anyone successfully removed chrome from a set of aluminum rims (as a DIY project)? I have a decent set of rims I'd like to use on my W124, but the chrome is peeling and generally just ugly as sin. I took them to a local fellow who tried to sand blast them, and he had no luck (or didn't want to mess with them, anyway). The little bit I have found on stripping chrome all seems to indicate that they'll probably need to be dipped. Any other options that any of you know of?
