That's the advantage of removing the top cover. It's then easy to remove the squirrel cages and lube them with tranny fluid. Clean the elec connecters and add a little electric grease.

While your in there, pull out all the plastic surround, remove, open and re-lube the wiper assembly. You'll be surprised at how fast the wiper moves after a good cleaning & lube. At worst you'll know how easy, yet time consuming it is to R&R the assembly.
